Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Black Lotus Financial Group, LLC ("BLFG," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit blacklotusfg.com (the "Site"), book a consultation, become a client, or otherwise interact with us.

Black Lotus Financial Group, LLC is a Texas limited liability company.

Plain-English summary. We collect what you give us when you contact us or work with us. We use it to deliver our services, run the firm, and stay compliant with the law. We don't sell it, and we share it only with the providers and authorities described below.

Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Contact information — name, email, phone number, company name, role.
  • Scheduling information — meeting availability and preferences submitted through our calendar booking tool.
  • Engagement information — anything you share in a consultation, intake form, or signed engagement letter (e.g. revenue range, entity type, industry, current accounting setup).
  • Client records — for active clients only: financial documents, bookkeeping data, tax IDs, banking information, and similar records you authorize us to access.

Information collected automatically

  • Device & usage data — IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring URL, and timestamps.
  • Cookies & similar technologies — see § 07.

Information from third parties

For active clients, we may receive information from accounting and payroll platforms (such as QuickBooks Online and Gusto), banks, payment processors, and similar systems that you authorize us to access. We may also receive information from advertising and analytics providers in aggregated form.

How we use information

We use information to:

  • Respond to inquiries and schedule consultations.
  • Deliver accounting, financial reporting, and fractional CFO services under a signed engagement.
  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Site.
  • Send service updates and (with consent where required) marketing communications.
  • Comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud or security incidents.

Legal bases (for visitors covered by GDPR/UK GDPR): performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent, and legal obligation.

When we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share it only as follows:

Service providers
Vendors that help us operate the Site and deliver services — including hosting and content delivery, calendar booking (Calendly), email and customer relationship management, analytics (Google Analytics), accounting and payroll platforms, and e-signature providers. These providers are contractually limited to using information for our purposes.
Professional advisors
Lawyers, auditors, insurers, and similar advisors, where reasonably necessary.
Legal & safety
When required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of BLFG, our clients, or the public.
Business transfers
In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to confidentiality obligations.
With your direction
For example, sharing your books with your tax CPA at your written request.

Retention & security

We keep information for as long as needed to deliver our services and meet legal, tax, and accounting record-keeping obligations — typically seven (7) years for client engagement records after the engagement ends, unless a longer period is required by law.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information, including access controls, encryption in transit, and multi-factor authentication on critical systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction or deletion.
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time (use the unsubscribe link or email us).
  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Request portability of your information.
  • Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

To exercise these rights, contact us at info@blacklotusfg.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

California residents: If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, gives you the rights described above. In the preceding 12 months we have collected the categories of personal information described in § 02 from the sources listed there, used it for the purposes in § 03, and disclosed it to the categories of recipients in § 04. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law. To exercise any right, email info@blacklotusfg.com; we will verify your request before responding.

Email marketing

We send commercial emails only to people who have opted in — for example, by subscribing to our list, starting a consultation, or becoming a client. Every commercial email includes:

  • A clear "from" address showing it is from BLFG.
  • An unsubscribe link that works for at least 30 days after the email is sent.
  • Our physical mailing address.

To stop receiving marketing emails, click the unsubscribe link in any message or email info@blacklotusfg.com. We will honor opt-out requests within ten (10) business days, as required by the federal CAN-SPAM Act.

Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still send transactional or service-related messages (e.g. responses to inquiries, scheduling confirmations, engagement-related communications).

Cookies & tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to make the Site work and to understand how visitors use it. Categories:

  • Strictly necessary — required for the Site to function.
  • Analytics — Google Analytics 4 (and similar tools we may add). These services use cookies and process limited identifiers (such as your IP address) to help us understand aggregate usage patterns. They do not identify you personally to us.
  • Functional — remember preferences (e.g. theme).

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some Site features may not work if cookies are disabled.

Children's privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through the Site or, where appropriate, by email.
